Learn safe and responsible use of firearms from certified instructors at the 4-H Shooting Sports Club in Fort Bend County, Texas. Come visit the facilities and find out about our club! We have a great group of young people, already, and have room for more.

The Fort Bend 4-H Shooting Sports Club provides safety instruction and first-class facilities to the county's youth that are interested in the shooting sports. We have an indoor, air conditioned range that can accommodate small bore, air rifle, air pistol, bb gun and archery. We also have a shotgun range with high and low houses for skeet and trap shooting.

Our members receive instruction from NRA and 4-H certified instructors in safety and marksmanship and have opportunities to compete at the local, state and national levels. Some of our shooters have gone on to shoot competetively at the college level, on scholarships.

map to the club Our club meets in the Education Building, behind the County Extension Office at 1402 Band Road. To get there from Rosenberg, take Hwy. 36 south from US 59 past the county fairgrounds. Turn right on Band Road. The County Extension Office is on the right.
Club dues are only $25 per year, with $15 of that going towards a junior membership in the NRA. The club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.

Contact the club manager, Calvin Smith, at clsmith@txsmith.net for information.

USA Shooting is the national governing body for the Olympic shooting sports. Our pistol coach, Dmitriy Shteyman, is very active in that organization. We host several matches at our club for USA Shooting. Click on the button at the right for upcoming USA Shooting events, match programs and results of recent events.

A word from the BB coach:

As a coach with the BB Gun program, I find reward seeing the youngest members learn to enjoy a sport that will be with them for their lifetime. They all use the same, affordable gun, the Daisy/Avanti Model 499. With enough practice, they can reliably hit the center ring that is smaller than the bb at a distance of 5 meters.

I have published a paper titled Improving the Trigger on the Daisy / Avanti Model 499. I hope some of you benefit from it.

We have a calendar of club events where we post meetings, practices, matches, training classes, you name it. Poke the button on the right to view the calendar.
